Hey all, I've inherited the programming position. I have been going crazy trying to get the chamfer mill to put an angle on a .055 wall going around a pocket. (Sounds simple huh?) I tired all sorts of different ways. If I make it a groove then the flat on the the tip of the tool goes down the programmed line and and messes everything up. What do I do?? ![]() This is VERY frustrating!! I've used MasterCAM and with that I just tell it the dia. of the tip and what side of the line I want to go on. |

| Try using the "chamfer" feature instead of a groove. Be sure the tool FC pick and the one you are using are the same parameters- od, tip dia., etc. Also, in the machining attributes and in the feature itself is "chamfer depth" which sets how far the mill goes past the chamfers depth, so watch it doesn't go down and hit piece of your part. Hope this helps-- |
