    Question FeatureCAM Purchase

I currently use Bobcad Version 20. Recently, a FeatureCAM rep stopped in and demonstrated his product. I was blown away by the ease of this product. I'm looking for a few things before purchasing...

    1. What are the downsides to this program?
    2. Is it as easy as the rep made it?
    3. The rep quoted...Featuremill 2.5D $4,000 + $600 Maint. Fee, Feature Recognition for $1,500 + $250 Maint Fee. Does anyone know if this is a solid price or room to work. Just want to make sure I'm paying the right amount.

    Any information would be helpful.

Grumpy is correct to a point... When I talked w/ FeatureCam they said they would give me 25% off if I was to 'turn in' my old Cam program. Then they said 'as long as its not BobCAM' [apparently they don't concider it really much of a competitor/product..] I think they get alot of convert's from BobCam over to FeatureCAM.

    Just my experiance.. FWIW

    Featurecam

Yes featurecam is that simple to use when it comes to 2.5d. I do not think anything other porgame comes close to 2.5 D. Now FR aka Feature recognition Is very good at finding holes and pockets and thing to that nature. When it comes to 3d that is a differnt story. Now why would you have to pay for Maint. Fee when you are just buying it for the frist time retarted. tell them to wave that. But make sure you have tech support because you will need it. and you do not want to have to pay 50 bucks every time you need a lil help. if you have any other question just let me know.
