Hello, just got fc 2.5d 2011, been a cnc programmer for years but never used a cam system before, couple of things really, can i import font to engrave and how, and is there anyway quick way of getting my tool crib loaded up with everything in our shop, any other time saving tips greatly appreciated. thanks |

| I hope this helps. Featurecam has a lot of fonts in the software. Look for creating text. It is really simple. Also your tool crib. That may take awhile at least it did for me. I'm still building it. You can import a number of files. DXF is the basic file extension that everyone uses. If featurecam does not have the font that I want. I create the phrase in another program and export it as a DXF so I can import into featurecam. There is some machine tool engraving fonts on the featurecam website that you can download and add it to the font database. |

| Hi Russ - If you use a design package - (coreldraw / adobe etc) you can 'export' a font as .DXF (you may have to convert it to curves first!) Once you've done this, start feature cam and size up your stock etc. Then go to file menu/import, navigate to your saved DXF and import it. Feature cam will take you to a new wizard to establish a ref point etc. FC will have imported your file as curves ready for selecting/machining. You can convert to geom, smooth curves, join curves etc etc - hope that helps. Mark_PGC |
