Fanuc 18i-TB Chuck Barriers

Hello Guys

Im programming a part in the 2006 Doosan 2000sy an have come up with a problem, the live tool will not get close enough to the part to machine it. In the manual it states to push offset key, then use softkey -> until I find BARRIER soft key. Well it is just not anywhere to be found. Could one of you guys step me through the process of changing the chuck barriers for this control.

Many thanks

Hello.

I take it that it says that in the machine tool builders manual?

Not a Fanuc function i have heard of, though there are similar.

Not sure if its too applicable to what you are doing, but using G-code you can set a protection zone, it uses the current tool, might be on.

It's G22 X Z I K > G23 to turn off.

Think of a square - X & Z are top right I & K are bottom left, tool enters this area and it alarms out.

Do you get any alarms?

I have the machine in G23, then moved the tool within .75" in z axis an got Alarm

514 interferance +x
514 interferance +z
515 interferance -x
515 interferance -b

The machine is capable of moving this far into the part as it will home behind the sub spindle up higher. Also I moved the sub way out from home(about 6") moved tool close to the part, got the same 4 alarms. There seems to be some kind of floating forbidden zone around the sub.
How can I change these settings????

IIRC, you can temporarily ignore the interference zones with M110.
Be sure to program M111 when you're finished to turn the interference zone back on.

0i series uses parameters 1330-1336 for defining chuck barrier. Your control may have similar parameters.
