32iMA Folder / Memory questions

Ok just barely smart enough on the Fanuc to ask a decent question..But here goes.
The "only" folder I have shows 100kb used and 35 unused. In other words almost empty.
I cant get a program "419kb" to load as there is not enough room in the folder.
So do you make another folder..and if so can you make it bigger?
I am have been waiting for Fanuc to get the answer most of the day. So I thought I would post this now in the hopes of finding a resolution by morning.
Thanks,
Gary

That doesn't seem right.

Is there anything in the MTB folder?

How much memory have you used so far?

If you can get a copy of the Maint-inf out of the control and a screen shot of the folder in question, i will be able to answer this.

I will get a shot of the folder..and look for the "Maint-inf"
The machine is brand new and is supposed to have 640m of memory. There is a handful of small programs but basically empty.
Thanks,
Gary

No luck on finding the MTB folder, or Maint-inf. I looked through the index of the fanuc manuals but that doesn't mean its not in there.
Thanks,
Gary

Did you blank out the 3 program numbers under O9999? This looks strange...

Also, what program numbers are listed on the next page?

Yes
what program numbers are listed on the next page?
Do you mean the actual program numbers that I have given to each program..or how big they are?
The numbers don't matter, and the size of each is under 5kbytes each.

Memory Capacity

Hi,

Is there not more storage on the 'data server' part of the memory? The 'cnc-mem' capacity on our 31i is puny compared to the 'data server' capacity. Can you access it ie 'change device'?

That's the exact question I posed to Fanuc yesterday. Still no answer...they are looking into it.
I think there is more storage in there somewhere..just need to be able to access it.
Thanks,
Gary

Data server is an additional option board, not normally sold with a control unless its asked for.

I think the sales man has got the part program spec wrong. You seem to have a lot of programs available but very little kb.

The maint-inf is under the [SYSTEM] button.

You are right..just not much memory. I got a new guy at fanuc that is on the ball now.I just faxed over the data sheets. It was supposed to have 640m of memory.
After talking with him this morning I think it has a lot less.
I just didn't understand the memory to program length factor. Never a problem on the HAAS machines.
The killer is I could have had any amount for nothing before purchase as a negotiating tool....now that will be a different story for sure.
Thanks,
Gary

Ok..
The deal is there isn't the amount of memory it is supposed to have. Now the company is checking to find out the if..ands..and butts.
IF that is the case I will have lucked out and the flight and labor will be on them for the install. But at this point I would pay more to have more.
On my option sheet they show 2560m.
So my question now is..would that be the way to go..or what are my memory options?
I really don't want to run everything dnc from the flash card.
Thanks,
Gary
