On my Kitamura Mycenter 1 0MC system, I have a A06B-6079-H106 servo amp on the Z axis. I recently bought a take out servo amp on ebay of the same number. I was getting ready to put it in my machine to test it and I noticed that the two amp are different a subtle way. My amp has two jumper blocks on the front marked CX5X and CX5Y. In my machine, the CX5Y block has a jumper mounted on it. On the take out amp, there is a CX5X jumper block, but only a space on the PCB for the CX5Y jumper block - no jumper block. It was clearly this way from the factory - not a case of the item being removed. If I had an extra block I could install it - OR I could remove the CX5X block and put it in the CX5Y position. This leads to my question. What are these jumper blocks and what do they do? Second - What should I do with my new (used) amp? |

| The two connectors are to do with the battery for a Absolute position encoder the CX5X is the 6V battery connector the CX5Y is a link to connect another servo amp to that battery. I expect you previously had an early model. normally the jumper is found across the CX5X on non ABS pulse coder (battery) machines

| None of my servo amps contain batteries, but the system has 3 1.5V D cells. I understand that they are for the parameter memory. I don't think I have any absolute coders, but I am not sure what Kitamura used in this machine. It is a Mycenter 1 built in '97. I did notice another difference between the two amplifiers. The amp that came with my machine has a capital letter G in the upper right hand corner of the paper label that contains the part number, etc. My new (used) amp has the letter D in the same place. I assume this means that my "new" amplifier is actually older than the one in the machine. I soldered a 90 degree two pin header into the empty CX5Y spot and added a jumper on the "new" amplifier. I assume it won't hurt anything. Tomorrow, I plan to try the new amplifier in that configuration, unless someone suggests otherwise. |

| Well, my new (old) amp works fine. Thanks to MM, I had little hesitation in trying it. My mods to add the jumper were unnecessary, I'm sure, but they were done before I knew what the jumpers did. There have been some pretty cheap Fanuc servo amp take outs on ebay lately - so keep you eyes open. Mine turned out well. |

| Yeah, Bruce I've gotten lost of cheap FANUC stuff off eBay. (see my FANUC build posts) My particular servo amps are the A06B-6058/A06B-6059 type which are for the "S" servos and spindle servo. However only one of them came with a top board. They were on ebay for less than $100.00 US. I am still wondering if I could use them with the 15M, 0M or 11M. A side note: These GE FANUC Application pages helped me a lot finding the right part numbers. http://application.gefanuc.com/servi...rts/0c0001.htm FANUC 0C http://application.gefanuc.com/servi...ts/11a0001.htm FANUC 11 A http://application.gefanuc.com/servi...ts/15a0001.htm FANUC 15 A They also have the 15 B, 16/18 A, 21 B, and maybe a few others (I didn't look). I also did not play with the rest of the application.gefanuc.com site to see what other pages it may hold. Just replace the "xxx" in the "/xxx0001.htm" of the URL with your model. Greg |
