i was woudering how to tap a M6x1 on a lathe would you use a G84 and if so can someone give me a Ex.

yes that seemed to work the only thing that i had some trouble with was turning the ridged mode off so i just told the tool to do a rapid movement back way from the work to get the tool to go back to the home possession before i did that it would alarm out on the tool home line saying that rigid tap mode still on. thank for the support i greatly appreciate it

Try putting in a G80(canned cycle cancel) before the M30 and see if that works.
