    Question Fanuc 11m Dnc

I have a matsuura 1500 with a 11m control and need help on running it in dnc mode. i have played with baud rate, line delay and changed rs232 cables. i can put the machine in tape mode, send program, push start on the control and the machine will run for a while the shut off.(never runs for same amount of time) when it shuts off in order to get it back on i have to turn main power off and then bring it back up. (acts like the hydralics were turned off but they will not come back up until i turn main power off) Current baud rate is 300 on both cnc and the laptop. if the machine is performing a long move and doesn't change lines fast enough the machine gets an alarm for over buffer like it is not telling the computer to stop sending information. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks robert

I would go into Windows Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device Manager - Ports (COM & LPT) - select your COM port, and click the Properties icon. Then go to Port Settings, Advanced. If the FIFO buffers are on, this could be your problem.

Slide the sliders all the way left then uncheck the Use FIFO buffers.

i have read and understand how to do this but for some reason when i slide the bar setting all the way to the left and uncheck the fifos check box and click ok when i open properties again it moves all settings back the way they were before i moved them and selects the fifos box. i am using a socket pcmia card to a 9 pin then it goes to a 25 pin cable.

You have to restart your computer after changing the settings.
