I have Mori Seki MV80 with at Fanuc 11m control. I need to figure out if this control is capable of running from a drip feed. It has a tape mode - but I have found no clear instructions on how to identify if the machine is dripfeed capable or how to operate if it is? Can anybody help?

nothing to say under this line
There are a couple of ways to drip feed an 11 control besides using the remote buffer. The easiest way is through the serial port, which can be set up with the right combination of parameters. The limitation here is it can only be done at 9600 baud realistically. If you already have the serial port hooked up and working for program loading, you are almost there.
A faster transfer can be done by installing an aftermarket "Behind the Reader" interface board to the tape reader port. These are made by various vendors like Advanced Digital Research, Memex, Dostek etc.
