Newbie Question - How to get the code into the controller?

Ok I am new to this and trying to catch on. I managed to design a part and generate the G-Code for it. The next thing I need to figure out is how to get the code into the Fanuc controller. I understand the cable connection part. Is there a software program to "push" the code into the controller?
