Hello all! I have an application on an 180i controller where I need to use the high speed skip functionality. I want to rotate a part and stop the rotation if a photosensor sees a hole in the top of it. This is part of a rework routine. If there are holes, I want the machine to skip them, if not, then I want it to punch them. I have Baumer laser sensor for my photosensor. It is a logic 1 if the sensor sees a reflection, and a logic 0 if it sees a hole. I have a line G91 G1 G31 F15000 C360: As far as I can tell, this will turn the part 360 degress (C is my rotary axis) while checking the assigned high-speeds skip (HSS) signal. The rotation should stop when a hole is seen. Now, I know I have to tell the machine which HSS signal line to look at. Other uses of G31 in the OEM's code use a G10L52 to initialize the parameter setting, and G11 to terminate it. I do the following: G10L52; N6202R00000100; G11; I don't know what the "L52" is all about, but it's always used. Here's the thing: It's register 6202 that is the 'home' of the HSS signals, and the photosensor I want is in bit 2. However, when the NC gets to the parameter setting line, it tells me that this is an illegal high speeds skip signal! What? How can it be 'illegal'? Every other bit can be assigned, but of course, I don't need them! ![]() Is it because I need the HSS to arrest the C-axis when it goes from 1 to 0, instead of 0 to 1? Is there something I've setup wrong in the hardware? If anyone can tell me something to look for, that would be great. Thanks, everybody! |
