Fanuc 0M Lost Codes - Tool Carousel & MPG not working

Hi guys.

Sad story, desperately need your help please.

My friend has a working fabrication shop, and he had a permanent 911 error on his Kryle VMC700F with a Fanuc 0M-F control (is this correct, or is it really an 0M-C?), and was advised to Del-Reset, then found there were no backups on site other than one old CNC Param printout listing, and no manuals other than one binder with some photocopied pages from several books. Problem? We are in Cyprus, no support available. We have called Kryle, they are trying to find the old records for us but it's already been a week and the machine is desperately needed for production.

The O9001 macro was wiped too along with the work programs, as you must know. We think there was only the O9001 macro, unless you know there should be more?

The diagnostic parameters appear to be present but I don't know how to check if the data is correct, we don't have a printout of those. For example when trying to set the spindle orientation by setting a bit in Diag param 383 as described in the procedure sheet we have, nothing changed as we turned the spindle, should it? Can anyone please put up a procedure for this spindle orientation?

I managed to re-enter the parameters manually, 0001-9899, from the paper listing, and I have also learned how to backup and restore the CNC params (using the DNC Tool that we use for jobs, it can do file transfers too), including 0900-0939 and the diagnostic params from the PC, and upload 9000 macros and offset files too, so we are ok with doing that I think, but please advise.

So that was the background...

At this time the Tool carousel (20 tools) is not working at all, neither from the console buttons nor from trying a T6 M6.

And the hand control, MPG? is also not working at all. The HNDL / JOG indication on the screen comes on when we press the relevant button, the Jog works fine on all 3 axes but the param bits for the MPG do not change when selecting one of the axes, nor when changing the range, and there is no axis movement.

I haven't tried any of the Toolchange macros that I have found here until now because I don't understand the implications yet, and I tend to be cautious with nasty things that can mince me up!

Help needed urgently please:-
1. Toolchange carousel.
Should the carousel work once the toolchange macro is installed?
If so which toolchange macro should I try for this 20-tool magazine?
If not, how can I troubleshoot the carousel and which commands might help me to energise it directly?

2. MPG.
Is the table of params in the front of the parameters manual for the MPG complete, or is there any param missing that would activate the MPG?
I am confused as to some settings for the single MPG that we have. Should I select Specification A, or B, or does it not matter as we have only 1 MPG?

Sorry for the number of questions and the length of this, any and all help and advice is very welcome. Thanks.

You need to call Fanuc. They can head you the correct direction for the proper parameters. As far as macros, its been over 10 years since I did a tool setter macro.
As far as a tool changer there are different ways the various machines are set up, some may use a macro, and some have built in preprogramed controls. Well thats the way I understand it anyway. If you have a copy of a tool changer macro thats a start, good info from Fanuc and the machine builder would help to decipher the macro you have.

Unfortunately Fanuc will not have anything but the option parameters for a certain system, this is the way the OEM gets it, the OEM/MTB is then responsible for the parameters, macro's and PMC ladder and timer counter values.
