Hi guys, great site here and some fantastic info. I have a Fanuc 0-md controller that I would like to post to. I'm not too familiar with connecting the controller to the pc with dnc software as the other machines I have used were a little newer and didn't require this. I have a few questions that I would like assistance with. What type of cable do I need? My controller is 25pin and my serial is 9, handshake no handshake I’m not sure what this is? What software should I consider? What parameter changes do I need to make in my controller? Any other info you may recommend? Fantastic site and great info. Thanks in advance. Mike |

Hello If you go to my site at www.memex.ca you will find cable diagrams for DNC with Fanuc controls. If you download our NetDNC Demo software there is in the help section a setup page for Fancu 0 controls that will give you all the settings. YOu may or may not have theh Direct DNC option in your control but you will be able to upload and download. Or get in touch with me off the list. These controls are very striaght forward if the cable is correct. Graham@astrixnet.com |

| There is a free version of Cadem lite on the Cadem site, I always use the 3 wire cable version with the hardware handshake jumpered out. Al.

| We alway make the cables with both hardware and software handshaking. You can use a jumper to cancel the Hardware handshake but sometimes it is handy to have and all you have to do is cut the jumper to use hardware. We set Xon/Xoff and RTS/CTS. This works well. If you run a longer cable (say 50 feet) it is handy to have the option for another wire if one of them gets broken. |

| Fanuc needs to see the HW handshake but does not use it, just XON/XOFF. All you need to do is use 4 conductor cable, one for a spare. Al.
