Just got a cheap machining center with an 0MC control but have no manuals and have never operated fanuc controls. I'm trying to change the parameters per: http://www.aggsoft.com/cnc-dnc/fanuc-0m.htm to enable DNC.
But my machine won't let me.
For example:
I set PWE to 1 in DGNOS PARAM while in MDI mode
Navigate parameter 552, type 9, then INPUT, but nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

If there is a separate key switch on the operator's panel, turn it to disable and try again.
On my machine DNC is enabled through the settings on number 55. Has an option for either 'ON' or 'OFF.' Some controls might have it set to be either '0' or '1.' That was all that was required to turn it on. Hitting the MDI button twice would put my control in receive mode. I use hyperterminal to send and receive.
There is a tape switch on my machine. But it doesn't look like there is anything configured to set the baud rate, stopbits, databits, or parity.
My 1990 Tape Drill machine with the 0m-C has full DNC capability, which is initiated by pressing the Remote button on the operator panel next to Memory. My Kiwa machine is the same year and control, but slightly different software version (and ladder obviously) and doesn't at this time support it?? MTB thing I'm sure.
amurphysmu, send me a PM with your e-mail and I'll get you what I've got in documentation if it will help.
