Hi. We have this Takisawa TNR-200ys with Fanuc 31i-A5 control at our school as educational lathe, and I'm the poor man to figure it out. :-) Fine machine, 2 spindles, revolving tools etc.. Problem: #3006=1 (BlahBlah) doesn't work.. If I'm not misunderstood, it should write out message blahblah and wait for continue (cycle start) ? Tried couple of variations, but no go. #3000=1 (blah blah) works, but causes (of course..) alarm and needs reset.. Also like to know how (i don't have any macro variable books..) calculate "new" zeropoint after changing workpiece from spindle 1 to spindle 2.. My approach for this is to go with G31 P98 Q20 A25. F100. which causes skip when 2nd spindle collides with 1st, and this i know is #5066.. Also known is that workpiece zero is at workpiece shift register, but what is the variable for that? Is there public domain lists / books about variables on fanuc? Tried google, but no go. We have 67kg of nice yellow books, but nothing about macros / variables, tons of parameters and manual guide-guides.. - Harri |

| Search button: http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=681426 or Google: http://www.machinetoolhelp.com/Appli...variables.html Look at your "User manual. Common to lathe and machining center ..." also. |

Pretty newbie in these multiaxis lathes, but tired to read thousands of pages of paper, just because I have absolutely no clue about what is done and why and how.. .. And after little reading, just realized there was Attached Files in the first link, and it looks like pretty interesting.. Still.. Why #3006 doesn't work.. ;-) As said, new to these systems, ex-IT-experimentalist, like variables, parameters and arguments, but if I don't have manual, I really don't like them.. I just need to KNOW what and when and why.. The "User manual. Common to lathe and machining ...." and others are great, if you: 1. Know what you're doing. 2. Know what you're supposed of doing. 3. Know anything about fanuc.. :-) And there is no (or i've just missed it) explanation on variables (in user manual) Variable is not parameter.. ? Or? - Harri, hey really, I'm not pro. just learning. to be pro. :-) |

| Still.. Why #3006 doesn't work.. - check if message is < 26 characters long "User manual. Common to lathe and machining ...." - Chapter 16 Custom macro is what are you looking for Really the manuals are not the best cookbook when you learn writing macros. There are several books suggested by Google on this matter, maybe someone will propose which is the best one. And yes, variables and parameters are two different things. |

And found that chapter in manual also, have been reading and trying to understand it. But, another question, which i didn't find answer (yet..). #2601 gives me workpiece coordinate shift z. This machine have 2 spindes, and at "manual" level just pressing button switches to wkcd-2 (from wkcd-1), and they have their own shifts. How to get / set that another? 29 pages about coordinates, but only one workpiece coordinate shift ? - Harri |
