PC to Fanuc File Transfer

I'm trying to transfer my NC program from GibbsCAM to the 0i Mate-MB control. I have a null modem cable and have set the parameters on the control and the PC as listed on this webpage I found.

http://kfasllc.com/rs232_0.htm

I've read the Fanuc manual several times and nowhere can I find any procedure for file transfer via RS232. I feel like the manuals are full of information which I can't/won't use; like trying to find the 6V battery which doesn't exist.

Can anyone tell me the proper procedure (what buttons to press) to prepare the control to receive the file? I think I need to be in EDIT mode and then hit the PROG key but I get lost after that.

Thanks

it doesnt work because you are using parameters for a 0 control not a Oi.

go to offset setting button..

make i/o =0
tv check off
punch code=1 (for ISO)
make pwe 1

go to system, parameters
make 101 10000001
103 10 for 4800 baud
11 for 9600 baud

File Transfer Successful

fanucman,

Thanks for the parameter information. The file transfer work fine now. I did have to change to a straight through serial cable though. The null modem cable would not work properly.

you will need a null modem adapter.. a strait through cable WILL NOT WORK with out one..

call fanuc they can send you a pin out if you want to make your own..

By straight through cable, I meant that I made a cable with the pinouts as shown in the attached picture (DB25 to DB9). With this cable I successfully transferred a few programs which ran fine with no problems. Am I missing something? I'd hate to screw something up.
