3 Axis on 21i-M

Hi. I try not to ask the soon I have a problem but I cannot see an solution to this. I have a 21i-M controller, and when I issue a:

G01 X1Y1Z1

I get an error alarm:

015 Too many axis commanded

I looked at the parameter manual and I see that parameter 1010 is the number of axis commanded. It was already set to 3. I cannot find any more cross reference to this issue or parameter, so I realy do not know what can I try more, but I think is hard to belive that an expensive control cannot handle 3 simultaneus axis. But who knows ...

Unless "simultaneous axis control expansion" was not paid by the MTB, for all controls except 0i, the number is only 2!

Machine is a Kira VTC40A. It has 10 years old.
Well it looks that it is an option... Must add lots of lines to the gcode to simulate the 3 axis control. What a shame.

How can you simulate 3-axis movement? It can only be in a zig-zag fashion, e.g., XY motion followed by Z motion, followed again by XY motion, followed by Z motion, and so on, in small steps.

That is right. This morning I have done that. A program instead of having 100 lines will have 4000, but it works fine.
If we pay attencion we can see the machine jumping a little bit, but if the machine is rigid the final part turns out as I had the 3 axis movement.
Drip feed is then a must since programs get quite large.

You can write a macro to generate the desired toolpath, in a loop. This would be a small program, not requiring drip-feeding. Of course, if you are using a CAM software, you have no option other than drip-feeding.
