I'm teaching my self to operate a Hardinge conquest 42 with an 18-T control. According to the Manual to MDI a line of code I push <MDI> then <PROGRAM>, then <RESET>. At this point I type the line of code such as G97S1000M04. Next the manual instructs me to press <INPUT> and nothing happens. After this I'm supposed to press Cycle start but it does not input the data into the memory. I have tried this and many variations on 3 different machines with the same result. Obviously I have missed something but don't know what. any suggestions? HBF |

To execute commands in MDI you always have to hit the actual cycle start button, just make sure your rapid is turn down and you are ready on the feed hold. Are you looking for another Conquest for parts? I have one maybe two... ;-) |
