| Have you checked with Fanuc for an exchange? If you need it fast, this is one way to go. Al.

are you sure that will cure my problem? I don't want to send this out for the tune of 3000 dollars and find out that it was some other problem. My boss requested that I find a local cnc expert to take a look at it. I have a feeling that he/she will still need that other book (B-65045E) though. |

| I suspect that that manual is not going to give you a whole lot, Fanuc traditionally do not give alot away in terms of technical data. All I can tell you is that 95% of the time I have found it to be the drive. You could disconnect the motor feed and try it, if you still get the AL-12 it is pretty much guaranteed to be the drive. Also you could expose the IGBT's and disconnect the leads and check for short circuit, if you want to be sure. Al.

| just remove the motor power cables.. and run the spindle.. if you get al-12 drive is bad.. if you get al-02 or 31 motor is bad... regardless you need to megg the motor to see if its ok.. 100 mega ohm or higher from phase to ground means it good.. what is the part number of this amplifier? |

| Looks like you will have to bite the bullet and send it in. Al.
