Unhappy Problems Powering on Fanuc 0M

Hi,
I have a Komo CNC machining center with a Fanuc 0M controller (older style). It has two contactors, one for the spindle (SPC) and one for the Servo Power (SP). Everytime the power On button is pushed both contactors pull and then release again. We have checked both contactors, incoming voltages, checked for shorts (none that we can find), and all the fuses look good. We took apart the power supply board and everything seems normal, no burnt spots, etc. One more strange thing, when the power on button is pushed and the contactor pulls in then releases I get a fault (red) light on the power supply board. The fault goes away when I push the power Off button and then I can hit the power on again and get the same result. Almost like there is an internal fault with the spindle or amplifiers. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Luke

bad power supply probably... do this

remove the power supply from the mainboard but leave EVERYTHING attached on main and all connection on power supply...

I would do this with 2 people, hold the power supply with your hand and then turn the control on if the red light comes on than it means mainboard and all component should be ok

then remove Individually all output connections on power supply (put it back on teh mainboard) and see what is causing the red light..

if that doesn't work replace the power supply with another machines.

MORI-SEIKI FRONTIER PROBLEMS

We have a 12 year old MoriSeiki Frontier with a Fanuc M-21 control.
It has been one of our best machines since we bought it. Today, we wrote a
short program to run a canned drilling cycle. I set the tool length offset for the drill using the "Custom Graph" TLM mode, zeroed the machine in "Z" and ran the program in "Single Block" as a trial run. When I came to the line where I used G43 H1 Z.1 M08 the machine started to travel to the desired point. The DTG feature indicated that I had 23+ inches to go when I was almost at the desired H1 "Z" axis position.

I've tried resetting the TLM several times and always get the same error.
I did notice that when we start up the machine and home in XYZ the Z axis position in absolute is the same as machine home.

Any Suggestions?

You should start a new thread for a new problem. This will give you better response.

There may be error in offset setting. Verify G54 work offset. External offset should be zero. Also verify row-1 entries in geometric and wear offset table, in the tool length column (H).

Then bring the tool to a known Z-position by manual jogging. The Z-display may differ by a few inches (because tool length compensation is not incorporated), but it should not be off by 2 feet.
