Default sending large program to Funuc 21I-mb

I need to make a sign with names on it.

The tool path is too large for the machine (Daewoo DMV 4020D) and controller (Funuc 21I-mb) to handle.

I did a search on here and this method is called "Drip Feeding".

I could not understand the information because most of it was written in broken English.

Can anyone explain clearly how this procedure in done?

    Thank you.

Also, there is a cable that runs from the computer out to the comport on the front panel of the controller.

Sorry I didn't quite understand what you were trying to explain

? you have a RS232 cable from the 9 pin Serial port on your computer to the 25 Pin port on your Doosan ?

Can you upload and download programs via this cable ?

What RS232 software are you using this needs to have a drip feeding function

The easiest way on a 21i is to buy a SD Card and adapter and Drip feed from that

Check to see if you have a "DNC" position on the mode select switch. The 21i can run directly from the serial port if you have the right software on your PC and set things up right. You should be able to run at 19,200 baud (1920 characters/second).

The I/O device on your SETTING screen should be set to "0" for RS232, and to "4" if you plan to use the memory card.

Try this: Set the I/O bit on your setting screen to "0", set parameter 101 to "10000001", set parameter 102 to "0" and set parameter 103 to "12". The DNC software on your PC should be set to match, which is: 19,200 baud, 1 stop-bit, 7 data bits, Even parity, and Xon/Xoff handshaking. If you put the control into DNC mode, then get the file ready on the PC and press CYCLE START, it should run the program.

The most common problem with DNC on this control is DNC software that can not handshake fast enough. The Fanuc has a very small input buffer, and you may get a "Buffer overflow" alarm on the CNC when running a longer program. If you do, you may have to disable the FIFO buffers in your Windows control panel (as described in this forum many times), or you may just need better DNC software.

You'll need to use "TAPE" mode on your machine to drip-feed. Are you able to send/receive programs with the computer/cable you have? If so, then drip-feeding should work with the same settings.

YES! I have a 2 gig card that I use to load all programs. I didn't know you could drip feed from the card like that.

Could you please explain how I can do it with the memory card?

    Thank you very much.
