mori mill 401 alarm

Hi to all. I'am new here. I have a mori seiki mill mv-35/40 ser#287. I have a 401 alarm That comes go's. some times the mill will run weeks on ends. but the 401 will come up and it will not run at all. I can shut the mill dowen for a week or two and power back up and run for some time. I can look at the cards in the back of the cnc and i never see a alarm led on. Can anyone help? Thanks rmanning

Hi There;

From some of my old notes on alarm 401 this is a servo alarm I think.
Some of the things that could be going on is the incoming voltage or transformer tap settings.
My note also state that the problem could be on the Velocity Control Circuit side of the drives. Also have a note that states that the incoming voltage at the drive could be at it max or below its minumum.
Also you may try checking backlash of the trust bearings of the axis that the 401 alarm is on.
Like I stated my notes are old , so not sure if any of this will be of help to you since alarm code may be different than I am using.
Contact Fanuc USA . They do have some tech there that know the older controls .

hi
401 is ready signal of servo drive is turned off ! DRDY if red light up consider on and let us know , if no light up there is always poor contact inside servo amplifire or there is problme on servo PCB .

please check and retiten all conection and use spray cleening for PCB you can nothing more to do if this problems appears by weeks

control servo cables, control brushes, scrub brushes, contact surfaces, if not help exchanged between the plates
each other (do not forget the switches), the error must be passed to change the map.

Please mention the Model Number PCB and Drive Details If Posible Than Motor ID also So I can suggest Why the VRDY OFF signal is coming (I mean AL 401 ) for any further suggestion free to communicate me prabhatmishra@mail.com

I have a 6m control and the drives are fanuc A20B-0009-0320 X/Y/Z all are the same. Thanks rmanning
