Schematic detail needed...

Does anyone have a schematic for A06B-6059-H003 AC Spindle Servo Unit, the spindle motor amp?

My previous regen resistor overheat problem was fixed but has returned exactly as before and I would really like to find the component that is failing to help troubleshoot and narrow the cause.

I can't get this info from the shop that repaired it previously unfortunately.

No. 2003 "Resistor Unit Overheat" is the alarm, same as last time. The resistors are sinking current from the moment I start the machine - with the spindle running or not. The fans can keep them cool for about 15 minutes before it trips.

I sent it out for repair early this year, got it back and it worked until Monday.

Could be the transistor/diode pack that controls when voltage is dumped across that resistor. Some repair shops don't check that thoroughly. They just run it a few minutes and call it good.

fanucman - I'm getting 238 on each, balanced real well though.

wizbang - Could be, the shop I sent it too won't comment - just that they repaired it. Pi**es me off too, I've been using these guys for almost 10 years - I think it's pretty obvious I'm not out to argue with them. I just don't want to fight this over and over and over.

I've got a buk/boost transformer in mind I'll pick up Monday and install that to see what effect it has.

Sorry about the delay - wife had to go into hospital & I wasn't at the shop for a couple of days and then had to catch up when I did get back.

The drive unit doesn't show an alarm - just the operator control display. I bought a buck boost transformer as I mentioned and hope to get it hooked up in the next few days to see if the corrected power input helps the issue.

Rgds,

Again, I have the necessary info.
But I think it is not your fanuc sp. drive unit.
What Make and model of Machine, which make , model control?
And what/what axes does this machine tool have?
Generally there is no external resistor for fanuc sp. drive unit.
There are ext. resistor unit, for fanuc servo drive units.
I think this may be caused by axes units not Sp. drive unit.
I hope your wife is better.
