What is the point of diagnosis data / codes? Are they there for the owner/ operator or the service guy who is more of a specialist. They must relate to something, is there supposed to be a list of them that you can refer to? Any advice would be helpful thankyou. Steven. |

| Thanks Bill, do these maintenance manuals have to be machine specific or are they for the controller only? I have been trying to find out more about the diagnosis process but not getting very far. If there is something wrong, would the item of data flash from 1 to 0 to let you know? |

| They are basically for the control, not OEM specific. They are a very usefull tool as the status, 0 or 1, of each bit with show the status of different machine fuctions. e.g. 0~639 I/O signals, 700~701 the current state of the NC, 712 cycle operation status. etc. The maintenance manual has the individual explanations. Al.

| Thanks Al, I have to try and find myself one of these manuals, some of my data are flashing back and forth as though a switch may be stuck midway. Anyone know if these manuals are available electronically or do I have to try and find the actual book? |

| I don't believe Fanuc put the 6 manual on PDF as they did with the later systems. Al.

| Thanks again Al, I guess I'm gonna be on a bit of a mission to come up with the manual. If anyone can guide me to which part of the machine these lines may refer to would be a great help. I will try and type it as it looks but with a "?" in the positions that are flashing. 0195 00?????1 0196 ????111? 0197 ?????1?? 0238 ???????? 0239 00?????? 0800 000? 0801 -000? The negative sign on line 801 is also flashing. I guess even if I could find a book it would have to be ordered in. If anyone could help out meanwhile, that would be fantastic. |

| Hi everybody, had some luck with the manual, got one on ebay. Might be a while till I see it but least I know it is coming. I am trying to get a service guy out to check the machine over for me as well. Hopefully all goes well. Steven. |

| You also need the machine electrical schematics which originate from the MTB, not Fanuc. Al.

| I think I already have that, a folder labeled wiring diagram about 3/4" thick full of old blueprint type drawings of all the electrical components on the machine. Lucky for me it came with it. Hopefully they will go well together. |
