We have an old Yang CK-3B lathe with a Fanuc series O-T controller fitted to it. Does anyone know which M code is needed to turn on the swarf conveyor? The only way we have of turning it on is to walk over to the conveyor and manually turn it on, it will also only run with the machine door shut and running a program which means whenever we open the machine door the conveyor stops until we start the machine again and then have to walk over and turn the conveyor back on which gets a bit frustrating after a while. We would like to add the appropriate M code into each tool cycle so as the conveyor will always come on. Also, is it normal to only be able to manually turn the conveyor on when the machine is running a program or is this down to a parameter setting or some other reason? |

| If it is a later version 0T then you may be able to display the ladder and find out what the M code is from that, M codes are decided and written into the ladder by the MTB. This also applies as to how the M code functions. You could bypass the CNC control and wire it into the external power circuit, many chip conveyors work this way and are not always Controller activated. Al.
