| On a lathe, C axis would be the spindle controlled as an Axis (C). A third axis that revolves around the Z. Al.

| Used to drill/tap holes from the side, and on the face for ones that aren't on the centerline. Can mill flats and other contours, engrave, etc. Holes drilled from the side must be in line with X-axis centerline. Need a Y-axis for holes that aren't. EDIT: Uses what is known as "Live Tooling." |
