Fanuc18-GC

We have a grinding machine with Fanuc 18-GC controller. The power supply unit was defective. It is removed and replaced with a good one. As we found lot of dust on the adjascent CNC unit, we removed and cleaned it.

After replacing the boards we got 910 Ram Parity error.
We held RESET+DELETE and switched ON the NC power then this alarm dissappeared.
We have a similar machine and we have noted down the parameters and entered them manually into this machine.

We do not find the PLC ladder, when we choose PMC LADDER.

Basically we are not very clear about the step by step procedure to startup this FANUC18-GC cnc. Could anyone please help.

The ladder is not stored in ram, so don't worry about it. If you call me at 519 364 3221 today or tomorrow I can maybe guide you.

I understand; have been there twice and IPTN is a customer.
We are moving this weekend so I won't be on this site for several days.

You must move Z-axis to the reference position.
Then set ‘PRM.1815’ #4 APZ to 1,there will be alarm"#000 PLEASE TURN OFF POWER".
Restart machine.There would no alarm.
The reference position setting is complete.

The reason u lost memory is because the battery is on the power supply which runs through the back plane to the main board... next time you want to replace the power supply do it quick... aka less than about 2 minutes.. that way you wont loose ur memory.. and make regular sram backups also..

the ladder is not stored in cnc memory is burned onto a chip.. you cant loose it unless you override it or erase it..
