What does Alarm 097 mean?

Hey guys,
I bought an old Fanuc Tape Drill machine (predecessor to RoboDrill) with a 0-M series C control and keep getting the d*mned 097 alarm and I can't figure out for the life of me what it is talking about.
The manual says: "P type cannot be directed when the program is restarted (after power ON, after emergency stop, or p/s 94 to 97 reset, no automatic operation is performed).
Is this meaning I can't press the Reset button then attempt to restart a program? I have to shut the machine off and back on to get it going again now.
I have a slightly newer machine with nearly the same control that doesn't do this.
Any ideas or thought appreciated!
Thanks!
John B

Well I figured it out, but thought I'd post the result in case someone in the future has similar issue.
Turns out I was looking at an incorrect manual that came with the machine. I dug through and found a correct manual in my PDF files and found that 097 is actually a toolchange alarm. The machine isn't getting the tool length compensation cancelled before the next tool change is called so the alarm occurs.
I checked my other machine with the 0M control and found that it has the tool length comp cancel occuring along with the M01 code so it doesn't present this problem. I can't see the ladder on the Tape Drill but it is obviously not written the same. All is well now.

More Help with same set-up please .....

If you don't mind I just bought an 1990 tape drill mate... I have same problem, what did you change in the program to fix this. I can run a program then after it is finished I can no longer tool change because of the p/s 097. Also do you run this machine DNC I am making a cable tonight and need to know where in the machine to read it. I do not see tape mode, or any rs-232 parameter settings. The previous owner said he drip fed this machine.

You have to enter a G49 after the tool's cycle is finished. I have my
CAM system set-up to post the Gcode as follows to take care of this:

N190T1M6
N192G0G90G54X#Y#S1500M3
N194G43H1Z#M8
N196G98G83Z#R#Q#F#
N198G80M5M9
N202G49Z0.
N204G28Z0.
N206G28Y0.
N208M01

This cancels the TLO before returning to home each time. Test it though to make sure the G49Z0. doesn't make your machine go up, then back down, before going back up to home.

Rgds,
John B
