I have an old Burgmaster VMC with a Fanuc 6M control. I have had problem with the Y axis for some time either running away or faulting out. I would like to replace or repair the encoder and cable. The encoder by machine design is directly over the coolant tank and gets soaked during machine cycles. It is mounted on the oposite end of the ballscrew from the servo. The number on the encoder that I can read is 360448. That number is on the encoder cover. Inside the encoder is a printed round board. the number on that is A20B-000-6-0240/? Can anyone help with replacement or repair? What other information do you need. |

| Does the encoder have a shaft? Typical Fanuc ball screw application encoders will have one of the following model numbers... A860-0301-T001 (for a 2,000 pulse encoder) A860-0301-T002 (for a 2,500 pulse encoder) or A860-0301-T003 (for a 3,000 pulse encoder). You can determine what line count by inspecting the glass code disk. I'm afraid the circuit board number will not do any good. The number you listed looks like a serial number which is stamped in the older Fanuc labels. I work for a company that services and sells replacement encoders, but I am not sure of the forum rules as far as referrals or posting such information. |
