| I have an older dawoo ace-v65 vmc. The machine runs great but my spindle rpm says 0? Is there a proxy switch or something that indicates what rpm the spindle is turning at. I dont have a schematic for the machine or a fanuc book for the controller. The control is a 15m Fanuc. Any help is appreciated! |

| Usually controller receives the pulses from encoder is set by the spindle (connected via the timing belt) and calculates the speed. Bad encoder? I'm not sure, but the problem may be in any parameter also.

| As Guhl mentions normally the encoder is used for RPM indication, and you would not notice any problem until you try a spindle sync operation such as G95 or threading or boring routines. This would test if it is the encoder. Al.
