silicone protector to protect the main operational panels of your CNC machines?

I’m wondering if anyone out there is using any kind of a silicone protector to protect the main operational panels of your CNC machines?

We have several Hitachi Seiki machines over here with damage controllers, looks like is difficult to have them replaced and very expensive.
