I just picked up a Akebono gang lathe with 0t-C control - it sat without power and lost the parameters. I have the factory parameters but they aren't working for me. The machine had been modified by the previous owner. There were some notes with the machine describing the modifications but not enough info for me to get it running - adding linear scales (Heidenhain LS 403) and higher pulse count encoders (15,000 pulse vs 3000 original). The pulse coder feedback cables were moved from M35 & M38 to M36 & M39, the linear scales were connected to M35 & M38. Parameter 37 was changed for alternate feedback 10000011.
The original P0004 (x axis) is 111 0101 which I read is 4x multiplier and 6000 counter cap. If I work out the new values (from this thread http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31080) :
6mm/rev / 15,000 pulse per rev = 0.0004
Since it is a lathe /2 = .0002
6mm/.0002 = 30,000
How do I enter this value? Since the manual I'm borrowing doesn't show a GRD value for 30,000 - or is the encoder a 0.1u detector (A290-0561-V563).
Thanks
JP
