Hi guys and gals. When i turned my machine on this morning it was all locked up. Upon attempting to get it going with no luck i rang fanuc and they said that fapt was corrupt and because i don't have a backup they are not interested in helping. So i was wondering if anyone on here might have some words of help...It is a seki lathe with a 10tf controller i wrote down the info on the locked screen it says symbolic fapt turn system edition .....5502/11 5521/11... thanks in advance... | They answered you that!!!!!!!!!! So Fanuc cannot solve the problem. Here in Argentina sometimes we have that problem and my fanucs clients change the CNC. You have to find something you can get assistant in the future. Carlos |

Well not in so many words ... Anyway it would appear that fanuc can't fix it and the only option is to send the whole thing to them and they will reprogramme it for a very large sum of money.. It will be cheaper to buy another lathe...oh well such is life...

If you just want to clear a corrupt FAPT parameters Power up holding in Backspace Key. Press “AUX” soft key REQUEST= type in “CFINT” Then Yes. Reload FAPT parameters If you do not use FAPT you do not need to reload parameters if you do use it contact the machine builder for parameters

Sometimes switching to CNC then back to FAPT will clear things up. Otherwise your next solution is to do as cncdiag said. This will initilize the FAPT side. This is the end of the procedure that it will ask. It will ask yes or no to initilize press "1" for ok and input Screen will message you when complete I have never used FAPT and probably never will. Is there a reason you can't use the CNC instead of FAPT? Stevo

Well upon starting today it started up in IPL mode and that is the end of the machine according to fanuc. It seem that with an error on the screen it can't be got out of IPL mode. The error is something to do with the system label..lol guess it has got as bad as its going to get....

Do you have a list of your option and CNC parameters for this machine? If you are in IPL mode and everything has been cleaned out you should be able to type your option parameters in the machine in hexidecimal format. Now your machine should power out of IPL mode. Then you can set up your communication parameters so you can load the CNC parmamters via RS232. Stevo

Thanks for your replies.. But the IPL thing is more complicated than that, because of the Check system label : error (The error is yellow and flashing) if you try to do any thing including end IPL it just keeps putting up the check system label :error and does nothing else so selecting anything results in the same message... What these machines need is a reset button that resets the soft wear. In response to your other question i do have some paperwork that came with the machine that has lists of parameters so maybe...

It’s been awhile since I have been on a 10t control. However I do remember the system label error. Have you tried to initialize the FAPT with the procedure that was posted by holding down the BS/EOB at power up? I am pretty sure that is what needed to be done the last time I had that alarm. I think that is your only option at this point. If it works then you can go through the other steps of entering the parameters if it is required. I talked someone through this awhile back and I am pretty certain that when you initialize the FAPT that it will not clear your programs or parameters. Stevo

Ok I would do a master clear of the control. Then enter all of your option parameters in. Once that is complete try to clear the FAPT then enter all of your CNC parameters. You might have to enter all your parameters before you do the FAPT clear procedure. Do you have a book on this control? I don’t have one anymore but I remember there was a procedure in the book about the alarm you are getting and it was fixable without Fanuc. To do a master clear power on with "7" and "9" depressed IPL screen will appear press "99" "Input" clear "Y" then it will ask you axis. This is the number in #9000 next it will ask you option #1? press "Input" Press "Input" through all options. Should only be 32 options It will ask to clear data or memory hit "Y" Then select option "6" to exit IPL To clear and set FAPT side. Power on holding the "BS EOB" button FAPT screen will appear. Press soft key "AUXULIRAY" Type in data "CFINT" press input It will ask yes or no to initilize press "1" for ok and input Screen will message you when complete To enter in option parameters 1) Power up machine with "-" minus and "." decimal point depressed 2) Key "99" and "Input" 3) Key Password @ each "?" prompt and "input" after each is keyed 4) Key in "3" or whatever # axes in parameter 9000 @ "AXIS" prompt 5) Step through options by number and key new Hexidecimal codes and "input" option 1=9100, option 2=9101 ect. Just push input if no change is required 6) If "clear files" appears, hit "Y" - will erase programs etc. 7) When 1st menu appears, key "6" and "enter" Stevo
