Plz Advice on Fanuc DC motor History

I have a question in regard to Fanuc DC Servo motor type and part number history.

Following are the lists I can accumulated:

1). Gettys Motor (Black cap) --- 1st built?
2). Fanuc Yellow Cap with serie 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 10, 12, 15, 18, 20, 30

Is there other DC fanuc motor type?
What's the differences betwen Gettys Motor and Yellow Cap? (Compatibility?)
What would be the part number on the Yellow Cap DC motor vs. Gettys Motor?

I think Fanuc and Mitsubishi either used Gettys motors or at least were a knock off in the early days.
I have subbed Surplus Gettys motors for both the Fanuc and Mitsubishi at different times, I just went with the same general voltage rating and the physical size to match up for power and found them very flexible for replacement, especially when Mazak want $7k for a new motor!.

Wow.$7K is crazy!
So if you sub 10M with 10M, then I suppose it would work then.
Obviously, you need to have same feedback (Tach or encoder) on both the black cap and the yellow cap?

Also, is there such a thing as Black Cap 0M?

Usually within reason, DC servo's are generally the easiest and the most forgiving when subbing.
I just replaced a 20HP DC spindle motor on a Mazak with an old spindle motor off a Mori-Seiki, I hate to think what that would have cost.
I am not sure of all the black cap motors there were, and yes the feedback method has to be transferred over.

Yes there were black cap Fanuc om motors..I think there are some for sale on US ebay at the moment!
As I understand it Gettys designed the black cap motor then Fanuc bought the design which then later became the yellowcap.
