Reading the Mem Card

Fanuc oi-mb controller

How do I get the controller to pull the programs from the memcard? It displays the programs on the disc but I cannot use them.

The machine can write to the card but cannot read from it.

I get a 071 BP/S Alarm

My card is a 2 gigabyte compact flash inside an adapter.

You're just trying to READ a program from the M-CARD to the Fanuc memory, correct?

EDIT mode
PROG function
[ > ] (rightmost soft key)
[CARD] (You'll see a directory of the files on the card)
[F READ]
Type in the file number, i.e.: "1"
[F SET]
Type in the program number to store it under, i.e.: "1234"
[O SET]
[EXEC]

Try that and let us know if you still get the alarm.

Have you tried reading a program you just sent to the card? Please post one of the programs you're trying to read here.

Thanks a bunch!

But now I believe the memory maybe full on the machine. Once I followed all the steps you told me,the transfer process stopped all of a sudden. Then When I tried again I got the same message again and could not repeat the steps you gave me. I looked at the programs dir and as far as I can see it appears that it displays 0 space.

Is it possible that there is not enough space on the machines drive?

If so how can I delete the older programs?

Can I run the program from the memorycard?

To delete old programs: EDIT mode, PROGRAM function, type the O number of the program you want to delete, i.e.: O1234, then press the DELETE key.

If your machine has a TAPE mode, you should be able to run from the card instead of the MEM.

Set your I/O Device to 4, then select TAPE mode (RMT should display in the lower left). I suggest you start in single block until you're sure it's doing what you want.

Press [ > ] soft key, until you see [DNC-CD].

Press [DNC-CD]

Type the file number, i.e.: 1 then press [F SRH]

Press the [DNC-ST] soft key.

Press CYCLE START

I followed these steps and did not see any dnc option.

Maybe this machine does not have this option.

Is there any other way to run large files other that through the Memcard?

Do you have a TAPE mode? If so, you should be able to drip feed through the RS-232 port.

Yes it has tape mode.

Can you give me some head start steps to seeting it up.

As in

Were on the computer does the program need to be stored?

Are ther any special netork settings I need to do.?

The reason I am asking all these question is because I dont have a manual. I believe if I had one I could figure it out.

Thanks for the help

Im sorry I thought I saw tape mode but I was mistaken. If I dont have tape mode what are the other options?

Is there possible some other wording on this controller?

The controller is an oi-mb.
