Convert the controller to inch

I am working in a shop with a fanuc controller io-mb and its all metric. Can someone tell me how to change it so that its in the inch system.

I am sure there is a way to change it within the program but that scares me because of mentaly jumping back and forth between the two measureing systems.

I would like to know how to change the entire machine to think in the inch system.

Is this as easy as "I" think it would be?

In MDI, press OFFSET/SETTING function key. The first page (HANDY) has INPUT UNIT = 0 (0:MM 1:INCH). Change it to 1.

You may also want to change parameter #3204 bit 0 (far right) to 1. This will display the Machine Position in Inches also.

You can also command G20 in MDI or in your program and then Cycle start to set the control in modal condition for inch system.
To change back to metric command G21 in MDI or your program

The position screen will display 4 digits after the decimal point as soon as G20 is executed.
