| Please can some one give me a kick start on how to sett tool height on this cnc machine I am using? It has a fanuc series oi-mb controller and it seems very difficult to understand. All my g-codes are produced on my cam software and then loaded to the machine. I haved used the fadal machines before and it was very easy but this one uses jargon I cant seem to mentaly decode. Can someone give me a kickstart on what direction I take to seeting tool height? The machines are Manford machines and have never been used. Knowone knows how to use the thing. I have uploaded many programs to previous machines and have set them up but this one is a lil harder. |

| You can set each tool individually to each part, or you can set all tools to a common height, such as a tool-setter or 1-2-3 block or ???. If you set them all to a common height, you adjust for part height difference in the G54-G59 Z work offset. So, in that case, bring the tool down to touch the tool-setter. Go to the offset display, and move the cursor to the Z GEOM column for the offset you want to set. Type Z 0 MEASUR. That will set the offset for that tool so that Z0 is the top of the tool-setter. Then, find out how much higher (or lower) the part zero is than the tool-setter, and enter this value in the G54 (G55, G56, etc.) Z. |
