Fanuc 10 11 software version

I have some detail about Fanuc 10 11 software version. But I do not understand about it.
Series 2020 11M-A STANDARD 9" CRT ENGLISH STEP-4
Series 2018 11M-A STANDARD 9" CRT ENGLISH STEP-3
Series 2014 11M-A STANDARD 9" JPN STEP-1,2,3
Series 2061 11M-A STANDARD 14" CRT ENGLISH STEP-10
I do not know a difference Step 3 and Step 4.

Could any body explain it

In Fanuc control system 10 and 11 have system Eprom on rom board. And on each eprom have serial this is software control name. So my machine had problem "Rom parity". I have two set EProm one had series 2020 (parity problem) and one is 2018. So I changed eprom IC my machine have no problem but I do not know what is difference between series 2020 and 2018

Fanuc 10 and 11 were general controls used on a variety of Machines, the hard ware required to interface the various product lines, forced Fanuc Engineers to use a variety of EPROMS and/or EEPROMS and Processors. They try to limit the configurations to a hand full of Models, 2210-2236 ect.
