I have a Fanuc 15MF. Is the G30 2,3,4, reference positions an option? When I try to program a G30P(2,3,4) it givea an alarm improper G-code. My floating reference position of 30.1 does work. I have the machine set up in the 1st reference position, center of table and face X0Y0Z0. However because of the G30 command not working I have to have hard numbered positions in the programs for Tool touch off, Pallet change, and Tool change. What I don't like about this is if the 1st reference position has to be changed or tweeked it effects all of the numbers for these positions. Correct me if I am wrong but when the 1st reference position has to be changed or tweeked it will not effect the positioning of the 2,3,4 reference because they work form zero return position. | Usually G30 is standard option, the way to use it is for example: G30 Z0; This line will take the Z axis to the 2nd. reference position, you have to have the parameter of the 2nd. reference poit position to a a value so the commanded motion take the axis where you want. This parameter number depends on what control model you have. GP. |

| Setting these parameters to values does not help the "Improper G-Code" Alarm. I have always used these positions when setting up machines when the ATC, or Tool Touch off is different then home position. I have the parameters set to values and still get the alarm. I tried G30, G30P2, G30P3, G30P4, all with an axis specified in the blocks. I have never had to have this activated. As you stated I thought this was a standard function but I have found data to support that this is an option but I am not 100%. For other various controls I see option settings identifiy 2nd, 3rd, 4th reference positions which leads me to believe that this is an option. Stevo |
