Hi Guys, I got this annoying gap on my program everytime I upload program from controller to pc. But I did not have any problem downloading it. I'm not sure whether it has anything to do with parameter. By the way , my controller is the old FANUC O-M and connected to it through SURFCAM SDNCII Build7. Attached is the sample of gap that I mentioned. Hope you guys can help me. Thanks Sammy Malaysia. |

| If you have pins 4 and 5 jumpered together on the Fanuc end of the cable, this could cause your problem. Be sure that you have a wire connected between pin 7 on your PC and pin 5 on the Fanuc instead. Whenever the Fanuc sends data, it looks to pin 5 on the Fanuc plug (the CTS or Clear To Send signal). If pin 5 is high, the Fanuc can send. If pin 5 is low, the Fanuc stops sending. Jumpering out pin 5 on the Fanuc means that the Fanuc will send whether or not the PC is ready, which can overflow the buffer on the PC side, resulting in lost data. If the DNC software on the PC needs to stop the Fanuc control from sending for a moment, it can only do that by toggling off the RTS signal (pin 7 on a 9-pin PC serial plug). Most DNC software works like this, although I'm not sure about SurfCAM. |
