| Johnford TC-35 Fanuc 18-T built in March 2000 We do not have a toolsetter Goal: Have 8-10 standard tools set in the turret and set the work offset from the stock and run the program. We need some instruction on setting tool offsets and work offsets. According to the Fanuc manual, after powering up the machine G54 is selected and on the MDI page, G54 is shown like it is ON. Trying to MDI a G54 command results in a #10 alarm. (same for G53 thru G59). There are old programs in the control using G50. Regarding G50, parameter 1202 bit 2 is set to 1. According to the manual, executing a G50 command with that parameter set to 1 will issue a #10 alarm. It does not. A little more info on parameters: P1240 both X&Z are 0 P1220 both X&Z are 0 P1221 - P1226 (G54-G59) all 0 P1201 AWK FPC ZCL ZPI ZPR 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 ZPR is set to 1 P1202 G50 EWS EWD 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 G50 is set to 1 On the Offsets page, there are softkeys for WEAR, GEOM and OPRT. Do not have a WORK softkey. Are there some parameters that need to be changed to enable G54-G59 work coordinates? If the tools are set correctly, sending any tool to X zero should put the point on the center of the spindle. So as a result, the only value in G50 or G54 would be for Z axis? Without a toolsetter, the tool offsets are set from where, exactly? Z from the face of the chuck? X would be the spindle centerline? Are these values positive or negative? I am going nuts trying to figure out the Fanuc manual !?! Thanks, turnertcm |
