    Few different parameter issues (OM)

    So, I have a friend that just picked up an old (mid '80s) SuperMax CNC mill. The kind that don't even have enclosures.
    Anyways, I've been giving him a hand sorting out the various issues. I've got most of them resolved except the following:

    When you go into edit mode, there is no button to get to the LIB (library). I have worked on other identical machines that had a LIB feature. Otherwise, how do you know what you have in the machine for programs?

    I can't get it to receive comments. Anything in parentheses gets ignored and erased. Tool comments, part name etc.

    On the POS (position) screen, you have absolute, relative, and machine position. Relative and Absolute are in english, machine is in metric. Anyway to get them to be all english?

    When it's running a program, you can see how far you have to go in any given axis by pressing the program button several times. When I do this, all I get is machine position and relative position. Nothing that says I'm .300" deep into the part. Should I post a screen shot to better explain this?

    Why can't I put more than +.799" in the common Z shift? G54,55 etc can all take any value, but not the common.

    What parameter do I change to send and receive at a higher baud rate?

    I'm 99% certain that all of these can be answered by simple cahnges to the parameters, but without the Fanuc book, I've no idea what needs to be changed.

    Thanks in advance!!

    Most of these are just parameter issues. I am not sure about the library. I am only use to directory or pressing the program button until it comes up. Send me a PM with your email. You need to many changes for me to look up every parameter. I will send you the data.

    Thats no problem. Ask away. I just don't have the time to go through each one. I just figured I would send it all that way if you need something else you got it.

    Your email has been sent. Good Luck!!

    If its mid 80's, it's probably a OMA control.
    These (same as lathe OTA) cannot accept parenthesis (comments in brackets.
    The control strips it out and all you get is
    ;
    ;
    ;
    Unfortunately there is nothing you can do except upgrade to OMB!
