    THREADING WITH G76 ALTERNATE FLANK INFEED

    Can anybody plz explain how to machine threading on turning center
    with fanuc OI-TC control using G76 alternate flank infeed
    Note - alternate flank infeed is important
    thread specification 3-1/8" -8un CLASS 2A thread
    major dia-79.11 mm
    minor Dia-75.52
    plz ans in detail

    Wink G76 threading

    Here is a program for threading 3-1/8- 8UN

    To use staggered cutting the program must be in Fanuc FS15 tape format.
    G0 X80.0 Z5.0
    G76 X75.52 Z *** K1800 D400 F3.175 A60 P2

    X= Core diameter
    Z= Thread length
    K= Height of Thread
    D= Depth of first cut
    F= Pitch of thread
    A= Angle of thread
    P= Staggered cutting

    X= Core diameter
    Z= Thread length
    K= Height of Thread (radius)
    D= Depth of first cut (on the Radius)
    F= Pitch of thread (F or E)
    A= Angle of thread (Of importance if you are using P1 or P2! P0 is plunge cutting
    P= Staggered cutting
    I= Taper on Thd (on Radius. E.g.: I0.001 gives you a +0.002" increasing diameter)

    hello
    thanku for assistin me in threading with g76
    but what is the number of passes it takes for threading
    or if its standard
    i.e (72/threads +4) = passes
    threads = thrd/inch
    can i alter the nos of passes

    Number of passes is determined by the depth of first cut (D). Increasing D usually results in fewer passes.
