I am new to CNC control, especially Fanuc controllers. I just started a job where there are 2 welding robots. One has a R G2 controller and one has an R J3 controller. I notice that both of these controllers have what appear to be 25 pin serial ports on the front. Can these be used for programing/parameter editing? Are the protocol/commands for the serial ports in the manual somewhere? Both of these controllers have hand held terminals hooked to them, but it seems like it would be nice to be able to use a PC to do backups, programming, etc. |
