I have 440A unit from DosTek unit (http://www.dostek.com/btr440d.htm) on my 6M and it's been working well from day one. It costs about CDN$700.

Hi guys. Once again pulling from the vast amount of knowledge on this board. Have been working on my DNC setup for 1983 Kitamura Mycenter3 and have discovered through help here that I can't drip feed this model without a Behind Tape Reader board. Suggestions for economical sources??
Thanks again, Dave

Try a direct BTR connection from Refresh Your Memory, Inc. You run a special BTR cable from your PCs parallel printer port directly to the Fanuc mother board. No additional boards needed. PC-DNC Editor software feeds the data to the Fanuc through the BTR connection just like the paper tape reader at 300cps. Putting a PC near the machine gives you the ability to:
Edit files on the PC while running programs on the Fanuc
Run or edit files off a network drive (or wireless network)
Lets you see the program text scroll on the screen while cutting
Call files and merge them into your program like subroutines
Do a lot of advanced editing (part rotation, scaling, offsetting, etc.)

Thanks Dan. I think I'll try that. computer is only 5 feet away. Don't think I can afford the BTR option yet. As always I value the input you've given to all here. Thanks, Dave
