I just hooked up an RS-232 cable to an hold hardinge superslant with GN6T-C control. I was able to punch the program to my computer fine, however I keep receiving an alarm when I try to send from my computer to the control. The alarm states, number of bits of input data does not match or baud rate is incorrect. I have tried every baud rate from 110 to 4800. Can someone explain what is going on here. If this is in the wrong forum, my apologies in advance. |

| I am using BobCad currently. There are separate settings for send & receive. I have the manual for this machine, but the section dealing with communications is missing. Luckily, I did have the section on setting up the cable, so I know that's right. I may have gotten lucky with the settings on punching it to my computer. |
