    fanuc oma to pc

    Hi to all,

Could some of you cnc guru,s help me with the nessesary tech info needed to
connect my leadwell mcvo oma control to my dell laptop running vista etc.
I wish to do 3d work on this machine if possible .
I have read in your forums that the oma cannot be drip fed from a pc, is there another method ? If so what do i need and what is preferred software ?
Also it has a yamato news 4th axis and separate control operated by m.code which i retrofitted in about 1990 , will this be a problem ?
Any other usefull info on this subject or related to the machine itself including
any servicing info to keep m/c in excellent order would be awesome.
I run a small toolmaking business in Adelaide South Australia called Racetech Engineering making race car components etc, we also have a mazak vqc 20/40B which needs connection to pc.

Thanks in advance , cheers from Mike

    Hello
Here's the information on RS232 setup for 0MA control.
    http://www.kfasllc.com/rs232_0.htm
Whether or not your machine can drip feed depends on whether the machine has "TAPE" or "REMOTE" mode setup on the mode selection switch. I assume your Dell laptop will not have serial port so you will have to purchase USB to serial adaptor (should be able to pickup at any local computer store).
