    3000C ALARM

GETTING A PARITY ALARM WITH LITES OUT OF 2,3,5,7,8,13 AND CALLED FANUC THEY SAID THE LOACATION ON BOARD THAT WAS SHOWING BAD WAS A ROM CHIP. WE SWAPPED OUT ALL THE SOFTWARE CHIPS AND MEMORY FOR PROGRAM AND PARAMETERS, GOT SAME PROBLEM. SWAPPED OUT BOARD AND CHIPS AND STILL SAME PROBLEM, WHICH LEADS ME TO THINK PROBLEM IS SOMWHERE ELSE. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT I COULD TRY. fANUC SEVICE SAID TAKE IT OUT IN PARKING LOT AND BURN IT, WHICH DOESN'T HELP MUCH- THANKS- MIKE

Have you cleared memory and reloaded parameters?

Unfortunately Fanuc had me looking at boards 9 then 10. (ROM & Ram memory boards) Ended up last nite I replaced board 8 (CPU and start up software board) and was able to clear parameters and memory finally, which took care of what I thought was the original problem, but now a new problem has surfaced. I can't get the curser to go past "STR" (store) on the input panel, when it hits that point it goes back to "N". Fanuc says its board number 8 still, however the MDI cable is attached from the input panel to board 9 so I'm going to do some more playing as soon as I get a chance later. Thanks - Mike
