Sorry about the photo quality, if needed I can get better. I grabbed these last night with my cell phone. This is the spindle drive on a Hitachi Seiki VK45. I would like to identify the drive and find owner, service and repair manuals for it if available. I went to the Fanuc site and found it to be totally useless. No information what so ever. Thanks for your help Dan |

| Hi. Say the name of the printed circuits, they're on the surface. If the motor model is 8 I seem I have the same. But I can tell you precisely tomorrow, I'm at home now.

| This is Digital Fanuc Drive. You can get the Detail of Pcb Based on the No printed on the pcb like A20b-xxxx-xxx. What type of problem you are facing in the Drive & which Alarm No Shows in 7 segment LED Display. Based on that we can give suggestions. |

| It appears to be the vintage fitted to 10's & 11's. I think you will be lucky getting an in depth service manual from Fanuc. There is a general installation/service man. But not sufficient to repair the drive. Fanuc used to have limited service bulletin info available on their site, now you have to pay for everything. It appears to have always been their philosophy. Are you trouble shooting a particular fault number? Al.

| Yes, that is correct; it is an A06B-6055-xxxx the last 4 numbers denotes the size of the spindle drive, this is the next generation of the 6044 family AC spindle drives and a service manual can work for both models with some diferences, it is easier to get manuals for 6044 in Fanuc. You can call them, I think they have mantainance for sale. GP. |

| Thanks Gang! Now that I know what to look for the model is A20B-0008-0030/08C Oft time my request may seem a bit strange based on Al and L's response. The drive is working fine at the moment. I have serviced many types of equipment in the last 30 years most of it much more complicated that a CNC mill so my nature makes me uncomfortable when I feel I might get into a situation where I would have to let some young wipper snapper touch my baby. I can get by with just schematics but extra detail is always helpfull. When I purchase a new car if the dealer can not provide me with my own copy of the factory service information the deal is off. When I sold a two million dollar state of the art CT scanner all service info stayed with the machine. Service contract or not. As I said I am a bit eccentric, If I own it, I fix it. Since I did not purchase this machine new I could not negotiate manuals. Now I am attempting to gather as much as I can. Most VSD have an in-depth parameter set controlling everything from ramp up speed, RPM tolerance, braking rate and a host of others. The Hitachi manual is awful. Jap-English and does not even mention the drive let alone error codes, settings or the fact that it has internal fuses. I would like to slow the start time constant to ease the power inrush. Does this thing have any safety systems built into it besides the fuses. If one fuse blows will the other two legs kill the IGBT's? See! questions! Thanks Dan PS. since the thing is over 20yrs old the copywrite would be expired and I would be happy to pay someone to photo copy the infor. if you have it available. |

| Dancy: To my mind it doesn't matter who's eccentric and who's not. The aim is - solve the problem. This is the usefull reference may be http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46949

| One word of advise I would give is if you ever get the dreaded alarm #12, it usually indicates the IGBT's are shorted, they are very expensive, ignore the temptation to replace them without testing or troubleshooting the firing board, as often the board can cause the failure, or the board can get damaged when the IGBT's fail. Been there, done that. Al.
