IS IT NECESSARY TO FORMAT THE PCMCIA CARD IN THE FANUC CONTROL BEFORE TAKING SRAM BACKUP.

2.IS IT SUFFICIENT IF WE TAKE ONLY SRAM BACKUP.

Usually you do have to format the PCMCIA, you can do it on the control or in the PC directly, this must be done after you replace the battery, etc.

I suggest you also backup the parameters and programs with the RS-232, this way you'll have and ASCII backup.
